Gundam: Forgotten Generation
Conventionl Melee Weapons
E-Carbon Blade: The carbon blade is a large trapezoid shaped blade made of pure E-Carbon. Since the cutting part is on the front end of the blade, it is primarily useful for punching attacks. Its performance is inferior to that of a sonic blade.
Sonic Blade: A Sonic Blade is a hand-carried weapon. The blade vibrates at a very high frequency to increase its cutting ability. While having very little visible movement the vibroblade is actually striking the target thousands, perhaps millions of times per second. Some Sonic Blades come in a dagger like form while others can be mounted on rifles. They have been seen to be able to parry GN-based solid swords to a limited extent.
Armor Schneider: These are specialized folding Sonic Blades that can stored in compartments too small for other compact weapons, such as beam sabers. They also have their own energy source, meaning that you can throw them, and they will still function.
E-Carbon Sword: An E-Carbon sword is any blade made of E-Carbon that is classed as a “long blade”. E-Carbon blades are capable of defending against beam weapons. While they aren’t powered, E-carbon is nearly indestructible and swords made of the materials are capable of dealing out massive damage if put into the correct hands.
Defense Rod: Defense rods are a mix of active and passive defenses. Unlike a GN Shield or GN Field, protection comes from the physical properties of rod itself. An E-Carbon rod rotating at high speeds creates a nearly impenetrable disk of E-Carbon. It should be noted that a defense rod was still capable of stopping beam strikes from a GN Drive[T]-powered MS of the A-LAWS by generating a plasma field.
Heat weapons apply thermal energy to the weapon’s blade, creating a superheated cutting surface that has enhanced penetration on the target. When “cold”, heat weapons can be used as conventional melee weapons. Shocking weapons apply electromagnetic energy to the weapon’s striking surface that can cause mobile suits without proper shielding to take internal systems damage. Because of their material nature, heat and shocking weapons suffer from the same physical wears and tears that plague solid material weapons. With the increasingly widespread application of the more efficient and versatile beam sabers, heat weapons became obsolete, while shocking weapons stayed around as a form of stunning weaponry against mobile suits
